Made from 90+ year old vines. Medium, bright ruby color with slight fade of garnet highlighted by pinkish rim. Nose is balanced, with pronounced aromas of ripe strawberry, raspberry compote, and crushed cherries along with subtle tones of lavender, tobacco leaves and new leather complemented by delicate smoke, toffee, and vanilla aromas. Distinctively medium bodied. On the palate it reveals classy elegance and balance with intensity of dark berry fruit and well-integrated oak notes, racy acidity and silky tannins with a long, savory finish. Surprisingly very ready to drink now and should continue to reveal more layers of complexity over the next several years.
