Bush vines planted in 1986 on decomposed Malmesbury shale. The vineyard is situated on an eastern facing slope, which catches the early morning sun and a beautiful block to be in at sunrise. Picked in mid-February. Destalked with 20% of the stems being left to dry in the sun fro the day and then added back into the tank for fermentation. Fermentation spans 10 days with only manual pigeage allowing lovely seductive tannin extraction. The wine is then pressed in a manual basket press. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in 2500 liter French foudre.
