The Cariñena vineyards are similar to those in parts of Rhône, France. They sit 1200 to 2400 feet above sea level, and the rocky soils radiate warmth during cold nights, allowing for slow, steady ripening of the grapes. With this kind of development, the Garnacha is not over-extracted, and the wine contains high-toned acidity and minerality. Notes of ripe cherry and raspberry fruit, with hints of violet, fennel and spice. The wine is juicy and lively in the mouth with a persistent finish.

The soil is composed primarily of layers of fractured rock and pebbles. The wine's label honors the soil and the local name for Cariñena wines “el vino de las piedras” or “wine of the rocks”.
