The Swartland has established itself as South Africa's "up and coming" viticultural area. For many years vineyards in this region were neglected, and a new generation of vignerons is rekindling a love for the old, dryland vineyards in this area.
Lammershoek is a pioneer of the natural wine movement, and as such makes its wines primarily from organically farmed vineyards and practices a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar. Wines are naturally fermented, unfined, and unfiltered. The result is fresh flavours, racy acidity, herbaceous aromas, and interesting earthy textures.
