Pair with grilled chicken, ratatouille, calamari, fish & chips and tapas. Vineyards located in the Stettyn ward in the Breedekloof District situated in the Breede River Wine Region. The white sandstone soil where the farm is located is fortunate to have a favourable climate, characterised by cold winters and moderate summers. Vinification with Vin 13 yeast to express thiol aromas (passion fruit, grapefruit, gooseberry and guava) and esters (tropical fruit salad, floral). Cold fermentation. The farm on which the cellar is situated is steeped in history and tradition dating back to 1714, when Governor Chavonnes of the Dutch East India Company ceded the farm to free burghers whose ancestors originated in Prussia. The cape dutch homestead, sating to 1777, was the original house occupied by the first permanent settlers. It was restored and is now a National Monument. From high-altitude fynbos to low-lying Karoo shrub lands, the Stettyn area covers nearly 7000 hectares, of which only 800 hectares are cultivated to vines.
