Trossos del Priorat
The village of Gratallops is the beating heart of Priorat, its black slate hills the ancestral home of the full-bodied wines that have made Priorat famous around the world. The incredible vines that grow in these rocky hills must send roots deep into the earth in order to find water and nutrients, and the resultant wines show intense flavours and characters. Yields are low, and the wines are among the most sought-after in Spain. Trossos del Priorat reflects all of the tradition character of this small region with a subtle and well-integrated hint of modernity. The modern cellar is set in a magnificent vista of the surrounding hillsides, and if you are lucky enough to score a booking you can stay overnight in one of the the cellar's minimalist rooms.
