Normandie Est. 1693 is one of the original twenty nine French Huguenot-settled farms in the Franschhoek valley. Set in a unique microclimate of hot days and cool nights, sixteen hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties.
The vineyards are surrounded by fresh springwater streams running down from the mountains, irrigating the clay layer in the sub soil and creating a perfect medium that acts as a buffer during the summer heat to protect the vines.
